Actually Amateur, PM me your email address and I'll send you a doc with the info condensed. Merry Christmas!

On another note from your last point, HIT and HIIT are two different things, although it may just have been a typo on your part.

Yeah send it to my mail address. I'll give you my link

Oh and enlighten re: HIT and HIIT

To the best of my knowledge HIIT is high intensity interval training and HIT was High intensity training minus the interval bit particularly targeted at strength exercises, endorsed "controversially" by Mike Mentzer.

EDIT: Jeff do you still play rugby for a team?

Correct, big diff between the two though.

I haven't played properly for a year. I've been plagued with one particular injury for the past few years which means I rarely get a run of games where I'm 100%.....very frustrating ! However, I'm getting it sorted at the moment. When I do get a chance to play I play with Seapoint. I use to play for Old Wesley as well.

I sent you that PM there. Enjoy!

I'm still reading away, I can't stand this Razor Ripped guys tone

Just a few from the first few pages

Think again, it fucking brutal. But the ones that actually can handle the intensity( Mentally and physically) grow beyond their wildest dreams
- Does this guy work for muscletech?

Now get a roation for all body parts and you'll be on your way to the physique of your dreams

BODYBUILDING: PUSSIES NEED NOT APPLY!

Most bodybuilders train for hypertrophy purposes and not brutal strength such as powerlifters.

Pussies stop a set when it starts to hurt!

I'd call that being smart and intelligent.

I'll keep reading this as it is about a training style I am interested in however this marketing bullshit is a pain in the ass.

He doesn't advocate any supplements, endorse any brands and he's not sponsored by anyone. Yes, he is qualified.

I think his tone is kind of funny, but I guess it depends how you take it.

On the "pussies stop a set when it starts to hurt" comment, he's right in a way. There's a difference between injury pain and muscle pain from lifting to failure. You want to train HIT you have to destroy your targeted muscle in 3 exercises with one working set for each! Stopping a set when your muscle starts to hurt is not how you train HIT. It means, pushing yourself, both mentally and physically. Next time you're in the gym and you find yourself stopping a set because you think you can't lift anymore, stop and tell yourself you can, block out the pain and push through it and you'll get another rep out. Look at Dorian Yates Blood and Guts and you'll see someone pushing through this barrier, using various HIT techniques.

On your comment, "Most bodybuilders train for hypertrophy purposes and not brutal strength such as powerlifters". One of the key elements to HIT is STRENGTH PRECEEDS SIZE. You'll get stronger before you get bigger. As strength increases muscle growth will follow.

This board pretty much has HIT flowing through the veins of most the people here, correct?

I may give it a go for a month and see what happens.

Give it a go for 3 months man and if you do it correctly you'll see great results. Try and watch some of the Dorian videos where he's training HIT and it will give you an idea.

Is it fair to say HIT in the mentzer/dorian yates style (never had an interest in those lads so don't know much about what they are into) is also an endurance test?

In a way I suppose you could say that. It's hardcore, you leave the gym and your in bits. It's not so much cardio vascular endurance, but more mental and muscular endurance, if that makes sense. When using rest/pause, forced reps, negatives and static holds, a set will last about 2 minutes. Your so fucked after that one set though, that I usually take 2 or 3 minutes before moving to my next exercise.

Would these not be a way to just shock the body or would you use this for long term training purposes i.e. greater than 3 months?

Nope you can use it long term. The idea is to get stronger every week (through increased weight or increased reps using the same weight used in the previous week) on every exercise. If your stuck on a workout for 2 sessions or more then you swap the exercise for a different one.
