Did anyone else have this "Supplement Ban" when they were in school?

I remember I was slagged for taking Celltech in 6th year, but people didnt know half as much as they do now in sch, and that was only 2004...

Nah when I was in school supplements weren't banned, but they were never supported either.

I remember a letter was sent home to all the parents making claims on "supplements and adverse health effects".Was absolute shite, just laughed after reading the thing.

ehh....and where were their references???

My school did the same thing, "apparently" creatine causes kidney failure and ya die, the letter was pretty blunt... It tuk some convincing to my parents that i wasnt going to end up on the transplant list for a new pair of kidneys...

And the cheek of my GP, i wasnt feeling the best around christmas, and i asked wud supplements affect the antibiotics, and he said he "didnt agree with all that rubbish"... That was good coming from him, the man has trouble walking up the stairs he's so overweight...

ya we got the former doctor to the irish olympic team in to give us a talk on nutrition etc in 6thyear. he didnt mention supplements as such, more of a anti - steroid talk. didnt stop the school banning the use of supplements tho.

i queried why were people still allowed to supplement their vit C intake with berocca and fish oils etc and i was told, 'sure they could put rat poison in those tubs you have and you wouldnt know'.

i get fuckig annoyed just thinking about the stupidity behind it

I wouldnt even care that much if only protein was allowed! Because personally i dont think it is setting a great example for the very young kids taking much else in public!(no,creatine etc)

Can any one reccomend a good pre work out supp to stack with smartgainer and whey?
