well in the last week, ive applied HIT to all muscle groups (bar legs), and i have to say i love it. got absolutely SLAMMED on boards.ie for advocating it, so they can go fuck themselves, i believe it works. heres my log for past week
Quirkster, are you the Quirkster on boards.ie ? I'm a long time lurker over there and my friend is a member on the site (gabgab)
Just for the record I like you. You're a cool guy, but you went about putting your argument forward over there in the wrong way and you were very confusing in what you were trying to say.
I know what you meant but people over there really REALLY know their stuff, the place is full of scientists and nutritionists and top class personal trainers (elite in this country i.e. frequently on tv, radio spouting on about fitness etc) as well as physical therapists, physiotherapists, chiropractors and people who know how to PRESCRIBE exercises to people and if you come out with the wrong information, you get caught out which is what happened to you.
And to Jeff, they are not pussy fucks. There are more powerlifting and bodybuilding competitors and athletes on that board then on this board.

i dont want to get away from the reason behind this thread but it was the people who were claiming HIT doesnt work and evolution plays no role in muscle growth that i was refering to. the same kind of people that jeff was reffering to also im going to guess.
i also realise that my posts may not have been understood totally and i may have been wrong with some things i said, but i was pretty much ganged up on, so they. can. go. fuck. themselves.
thousands of people post there daily dude, of course theres going to be more weightlifters and bodybuilders on boards.ie
i realise there are very smart people there, as on this board, but there are also some fools on it who im not going to waste my time getting pissed off with

Quirkster on boards.ie said If you bring the muscle to complete failure again and again, and use negatives and statics, it is forced to use all the fibres it can.
evolution dictates so.
The qualified nutritionist/sports scientist said:
Evolution says nothing of the sort. Getting huge and swole was never evolutionarily advantageous and has never been a survival strategy for humankind. Bringing muscle to complete failure again and again will however tire you out in record time, and possibly lead to fcuking up your CNS for a considerable period
And No I'm not the person who said that bit I am quoting from the scientist. Me and evolution don't mix.
You did get owned on this particular point though. They did gang up on you quite quickly (I'll admit that) but you were coming across as a "know it all" and that annoys them lol

dude - people outright denied the logistics of HIT
if a muscle is brought to failure (unless im terribly mistaken and have misunderstood alot of things ive read), mother nature will make it grow, so that it 'wont be brought to failure again' if you get me. survival of the fittest etc etc
i appreciate your point and i know i came across that way (unintentional), but when people start mis quoting me, laughing at my posts and telling me i know nothing, its gona piss me off. i had a private convo with g'em (that sports scientist you quoted) and the arguments sorted out now

Yeah Jesus don't worry, your enthusiasm is evident. My advice is to do what I do, sap every bit of knowledge out of it. You never know when you might use it/need it.
PS: I'll go into Trinity gym with you one day, I need a spotter if the offer still stands.

Hey Amateur, just having a bit of craic to be honest! Although, the reason whay I said that was because they told Quirkstern that "HIT does't work". Anyone who says that doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about and shouldn't be commenting on training and in particular someone elses training techniques.
As I have mentioned before, some of the top body builders trained HIT. I've had the best results of my life training HIT and I have spoken to trainers who say their trainees best results have come from HIT. so to say it doesn't work is bullshit.

On the above, I think most people commenting on fitness, training and nutrtion in the media in Ireland spout a lot of bullshit and the info they give out is terrible, so that doesn't carry much weight for me.

Quirkster........
Firstly, keep up the HIT training. Secondly, sorry about posting all this in your training thread.
Thirdly, on your above comment, a muscle recruits closest to 100% (probably 90%) of it's fibers on the rep just before you achieve TOTAL failure. By using HIT and taking the muscle beyond failure you are ensuring that you are recruiting close to your maximum % of musle fibers.

Amateur, you should read this thread, not the drug stuff, but the stuff about training. I think most would learn something from it.

I'm not your tutor. You want to learn something, read the thread, it's a great source of info on training and diet. Most people into bodybuilding would be delighted to find such a wealth of good info on training and diet.
