Howa all doing.. Just need some advise on weight gaining and bodybuilding. Iv been working out for about 4 years now and although im happy enough with what iv gained I still think I should be achiving more. Since starting to workout iv only gained about 1.5st which I dont think is paticuarly good. I eat right and workout 3 times a week. I take protein shakes and just recently started that pink magic stuff to see what it was like but havnt seen all too many results.
To give you a rough idea of what I eat here you go.
Breakfast:
Bran flakes with regular milk.
Lunch:
Chicken breast/waffles/spaggati/beans/sausages/rashers... Depends on the day what I have but my lunch usually consits of something in that list.
Dinner:
Chicken/steak/beef/potatoes/chile/ Anything really but I stay away from fast foods.....
Snacks:
I usually dont eat crap but have the odd chocolate bar or packet of crisps but for the most part as a snack id have a cheese toastie or a banana..

Sorry man but thats not eating right. Its eating shit.
Lets start with breakfast. Bran Flakes? Seriously? You realise theyre packed full of sugar. Waste of time. Also, zero protein. So, theres your first problem.
Lunch - chicken good, most of the rest of the stuff on the list = shit
Dinner - ok, assuming you have the meat with some more shit though.
So, to sum up, nowhere near enough protein, probably nowhere near enough calories. Do some research on nutrition.
Hows does your training look?

Id usually have potatoes with any of the meats just mentoned with gravy and vegetables.
As regards working out.
I start off
3 sets of dumbell pressing at 35kg each dumbell and do 8 reps.
3 sets of dumbell curl at 17.5kg each and do 6 reps.
3 sets of chest fly using 17.5kg dumbells and do 8 reps.
3 sets of tricep extension at 20kg and do 10 reps.
3 sets of barbell curl at 20kg and do 10 reps.
3 sets of military press using a 25kg barbell.
3 sets of pushup doing 20 reps each time.....
I would like to be doing more but because im on a student budget and cant afford to goto a gym im stuck doing what I can with what Iv got at home.

The diet is still pretty crap. Training needs a COMPLETE overhaul.
3x chest exercises
2x bicep
1x tricep
1x shoulder
Firstly, you're not limited if you have dumbbells. Secondly, you seem to have forgotten about your legs and back

In b4 "6 cheat meals a day keeps the weakness away"

When insulin levels are elevated in the body, it is physiologically impossible to burn muscle for energy (on a cell to cell basis). When insulin is present in the bloodstream it is also impossible oxidize fatty acids from adipocytes. |

Tip - Google is your friend.... enter 'bodyweight exercises' and 'dumbbell exercises' into the search engine. Combine the results, come back with a solid plan of action.
And do cardio for shits and giggles.
