Hi there, was hoping to get some feedback on my morning meals from you guys.

I currently hit the gym from 6am till 7am, 3 times a week (4th day on weekend)
Do you think I am taking in to many calories in my first meals of the day?

5am - Gainer Shake (620 cals)
6am-7am - Workout (Weights, lift to failure)
7am - PWO Shake (249 cals)
8am - 2 Slice Whole Wheat Bread, 6 Egg Whites, 2 Omega3 Eggs, 80gr Oats. (672 cals)

I guess what I'm asking is, is it ok to take in so many calories so early in the day (I'm looking to bulk up here) and am I possibly taking in to much Protein (Gainer+PWO+Eggs) in a 3 hour period.

If you need more info on the rest of the days eating just let me know.

Thanks for any knowledgeable feedback.

Good lad.

DIE FOR MASS.

When insulin levels are elevated in the body, it is physiologically impossible to burn muscle for energy (on a cell to cell basis). When insulin is present in the bloodstream it is also impossible oxidize fatty acids from adipocytes.

As I sit here munching away on my couscous and chicken breast, I cant help but wonder if you're suggesting that my current eating plan will kill me?

mmmmm cous cous. I like cous cous especially the dunnes stores one.

No you need extra cals because your day is longer...just eat like a beast every 3 hours.

Yeah couscous is great when on the go. Throw some green roast veg in with them, happy days.

Cool - Eating like a beast is pretty much what I'm doing. Just dropping the carbs in the last 2/3 meals of the day.

Thanks for the reply man.

You will not worry as much about diet if you circuit train strongman style 3 days a week on top of training.

I only started 531 last week and have been physically humbled by the prowler in the gym. I tried to push that shit for 26 laps today and by the time i was nearing the end the fucking thing wouldnt budge

So i followed that shit up with a loada farmers walks which should eventually help my raw deadlift on top of deadlifting without straps and performing kroc rows.

Im not eating like a beast yet though...still training below 2500 calories each day with less than 100 gr carbs on sprint/prowler days.

Yep, keeping it clean, with a little flexibilty on the weekends.

Mostly its the usual protein sources (Chicken, Beef/Steak, Salmon, Turkey, Tuna) and the carbs are sweet potato, brown rice, cous cous, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat wraps.

Had some decent gains, but seemed to level off a bit, so changing the workout in a week or two, and throwing some CR2 tabs into the stack for better recovery.

Just want to make sure my gains are lean, and I dont pick up fat....hence my question about the high cals in the morning.

Haha cheers. Yo what are you squatting these days. I saw the pic of you leg pressing 450 kg. giving Kaner a run for his money haha.

Heres a quote from the great Jim Wendler:

"Those who worry about empty calories live empty lives"

That made me think today...but of course we need to find a happy medium between having fun and training hard/eating well, just dont be too hard on yourself if you cant eat perfect all year round.

Just dont be scared to over do it on the cardio.

It was the best decision i made :) If you go a bit flat by the end of your cut like me you will fill out within a week anyway...muscle loss is really more difficulat than it sounds!

Just make sure you keeping deadlifiting the same weight as when you were bulking...if its for less reps that doesnt matter. I dunno, for some reason i thought maintaining deadlift strength was a good indicator of muscle maintainence.

Some days when bench and squats got weaker its easier just to go for higher volume in the form of strip sets.
