I found these two really interesting articles about skipping breakfast for fat loss and timing carb eating for only meals after your workout, some very interesting information I thought you guys might like to read.

Did i not already post this?

maybe it was on another forum

When insulin levels are elevated in the body, it is physiologically impossible to burn muscle for energy (on a cell to cell basis). When insulin is present in the bloodstream it is also impossible oxidize fatty acids from adipocytes.

Its the one bit of original diet advice ive read in a while!!!

Very interesting stuff. It really debunks the whole catabolism thing. That being said i like eating and let cardio do the work to strip the fat :)

Same!!! I think that works better to hold size AND STRENGTH also. Keep foods as high as poss and train hard, with intense cardio! Train the fat off.

Also makes a lean body maintainable, because you cannot stay very calorie restricted for a long time but you CAN eat maintenance or slightly above and train hard (with plenty of intense cardio) for as long as you may wish!

Diet fads, although interesting in theory are generally a bit tricky when it comes to day to day life.

I would expect this diet, the ketosis diet, the velocity 3.0 diet to be complete head wreckers in day to day life. The velocity diet i mention is a liquid only diet with lots of supplements included and you get a solid meal once in a blue moon.

I also read in mcardles exercise physiology that cognitive ability drops to 2/3 its original capacity when you go into ketone acidosis. Id definitely leave palumbo's diet out during the college year!

Ck you are right Maintaining my bodyfat at the exact level i posted in my diet thread was possible for 36 hours haha. Once the daily cardio and boring food stops that's it you put on water. Strength never went down on the low carb diet i did but has increased significantly since dropping the cardio and having more cheat meals.

On a side note: food is for enjoyment and many of today's researched yet extreme diets tend to forget this.
