were u fat at the start?? I don't mean obese but carrying a high enough percentage of bodyfat.... if so by improving ur diet you will have dropped bodyfat whilst adding muscle. This is especially likely if u are a newbe to training. This will also make u look far bigger to the eye... smaller waist = shoulders appear bigger. also u will seem far more muscular without the fat.
Don't be dis heartened by the scales, bodybuilders and bodybuilder enthusiasts should never go by the scales... go by measurements an the mirror.

Yea thats exactly it then.... I was carrying a small amount of fat... more so in the chest and belly area but its definitely decreasing... Is it impossible for me to get my body fat fairly low if im trying to bulk up a bit...?

Hey bro ck got it in one do not be disheartened,
I was 16st 5lbs bro, at 14.5%, I went on a calorie cycle and got some serious strength gains and have just set the bar on all my new pbs, and thats in the last few weeks after losing 5lbs and now at 16st 13.5% and feeling very lean, Sometimes when your not going up in weight it really is a good thing, especially if your just starting up and your losing fat and replacing it with muscle that is what you would want to happen, then start to worry on packing on the pounds of lean muscle! I have not been leaner, stronger or fitter currently, and I lost 5lbs obviously some unwanted bodyfat I didn't want lieng around around my body somewhere, but now I am even stronger and am looking even bigger bro, it all takes a bit of patience get rid of the unwanted bodyfat and welcome the wanted muscle in! Hope this helps brother
