Was doing my leg workout today of 3sets of deadlifts, 3 sets of squats, 3 sets of lunges and 3 sets of calf raises but couldnt complete the sets of the lunges and squats after the deadlifts.
I dont feel tired but when i try to do more my legs just give up, this problem is very on and off for me as some days I can complete the whole workout and be tired after it and feel really worked, but sometimes this just happens! its annoying. Should I bother with a post workout shake when ever this happens or is it just wasting it?

Any help/tips would be great!

derp change your routine...wtf its that simple like.

Take the deadlifts out and just squat leg press leg extensions leg curls or lunges followed by light enough stiff legged deadlifts at the end...

When insulin levels are elevated in the body, it is physiologically impossible to burn muscle for energy (on a cell to cell basis). When insulin is present in the bloodstream it is also impossible oxidize fatty acids from adipocytes.

That's a big leg session do either squats or deads

Then look at your nutrition, sleep etc that will affect your ability to train and recover

Personally I wouldn't do squats and deads in the same session. I usually deadlift on my back day

For calf raises, how many should I do? doing 3-4 sets of about 20 reps (whenever the burn gets too much) with 15kg in each hand at the moment

Ive serious chicken legs going theyre ridiculous!
Trying to add some mass to them and thighs although the thighs arent as bad!

Wtf man! think about it you are walking all the time so you need to utilise weight that exceeds your body weight when training calves...for the inner gastrocnemius use lower reps and for the outer portion use higher reps with toes pointed in!

Squat til you puke, or pass out in the rack.
